Since December 2015 I am a full-time associate professor at the Instituto de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades «Alfonso Vélez Pliego» (ICSyH) of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) in Mexico. Since 2017 I have been a member of the National System of Researchers (Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, SNI) in Mexico, and simultaneously I count with the PRODEP desirable profile as defined by the BUAP. I obtained my degree in History from the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), where I was a Student Representative at the University Council from 1997 to 2000, and graduated in 2002 with a thesis entitled «Carlo Ginzburg and Italian Microhistory». In 2004 I concluded my master’s studies at the Instituto de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades “Alfonso Vélez Pliego” (ICSyH) of the BUAP. In October of the same year, I started my doctoral studies at the Witten-Herdecke University in Germany under the guidance of Prof. Dr. phil. Jörn Rüsen. Between 2004 and 2009, I worked as a PhD researcher at the Institute for Advanced Cultural Studies (Kulturwissenschaftliches Institut, KWI) in the City of Essen in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. In 2010, I obtained my Dr. Phil degree from the University of Witten-Herdecke in Germany with the thesis entitled “Am andern Ufer. Die Außenseiterin Alice Rühle-Gerstel aus einer kulturgeschichtlichen Perspektive” Between 2009 and 2015, I worked as a lecturer and the coordinator of the Multilingual Ability Program at the Department of Latin American Studies of the University of Cologne, as well as at the Heinrich-Heine University of Düsseldorf, Germany. I was invited to give lectures at universities in Belgium, Italy, Germany and Mexico, and participated in many national and international conferences and symposia.
